We are excited to announce the first UK dedicated “complications in endoscopy” symposium. This 2 day event will aim to explore all the non technical and technical aspects of complications. This will appeal to everyone. We will have a wide range of faculty including patients, diverse group of professionals, lawyers, and Coroner.
Discussing complications is essential for informed decision making, and it contributes to a culture of learning and continuous improvement. Open discussions about complications build trust between professionals and patients.
The aims of the symposium are:
To understand the psychosocial impact of complications on patients, family, endoscopists and wider team
To understand the clinical governance aspects of complications, and the ethical and legal implications.
To explore the factors contributing to complications, and ways to reflect and manage your own emotions.
To develop strategies to avoid or minimise complications, and to demonstrate therapeutic measures of dealing with them.
We look forward to host many of you at Stoke, and together we can make a difference.
